Westport Golf Club is 2.5 miles outside the town Westport and boasts amazing scenery. There are 260 acres of undulating land on Clew Bay 's shoreline and the holy mountain of Ireland , Croagh Patrick, rises in the background.

The Westport Golf Club originates from 1926 and was formerly a nine hole course and was located near Carrowholly. In 1973, it transferred to its present location and is renowned for its beauty. Golf architect, Fred Hawtree, designed the course and stated that,” the nature of the terrain, part inland and part seaside, the panorama which it commands and its considerable golfing virtues, make it uniquely attractive and memorable."

A highly recognized golf club, Westport Golf Club has had the privilege of hosting the Ladies Home Internationals, Irish Amateur Close Championship and other minor tournaments.
